10 Hours of Classes and 20 Hours of Volunteering
This package offers 10 hours of teaching a week, giving students enough time to engage in other cultural activities to enrich their experience. Our qualified and experienced Peruvian Spanish teachers have created an itinerary for 4 weeks, but you can sign up to either 2, 3 or 4 weeks. The four weeks are recommended to reach a good level of understanding and conversational level speaking, listening, reading and grammar.
For applicants who want to volunteer, we ask for a minimum of 2 weeks to get to know the students and learn about teaching in a foreign language. We also offer two types of volunteering: an English teaching assistant role in a public Spanish school and tutoring other school subjects, like maths, science, art etc. in our Seeds of Hope community school. In both situations you will have the opportunity to practice everything you are learning as well as give back to the community! In your spare time, you also get the opportunity to learn about Huaraz and Peru: a city and country with lots of history and culture! Our Spanish teachers, Director and Coordinator can give you guided tours to some of our most beautiful and hidden spots, including Laguna (Lake) Churup, the oldest street in the city and cultural experiences with dance shows, musical concerts and more. Furthermore, we have lots of suggestions of what you can do during your time off! |
